The 2026 issue of Studi Jaspersiani will be dedicated to the topic “Karl Jaspers across Boundaries.” The volume aims to explore the multiple ways in which Jaspers’ thought traverses, challenges, and redefines philosophical, cultural, political, disciplinary, and existential boundaries.
Few twentieth-century thinkers engaged so radically with the problem of limits as Karl Jaspers. From the notion of Grenzsituationen to the idea of Weltphilosophie, from the dialogue between philosophy and psychiatry to the confrontation with theology, science, politics, and literature, Jaspers’ work constantly moves across thresholds: between reason and existence, communication and solitude, Europe and the world, historicity and transcendence.
This issue invites contributions investigating the productive role of boundaries, transitions, and crossings in Jaspers’ philosophy and its contemporary reception. We particularly welcome papers addressing the relevance of Jaspers’ thought for current debates on intercultural philosophy, political crises, technology, psychiatry, ethics, religion, and the humanities.

We welcome contributions from philosophy, intellectual history, political theory, religious studies, psychiatry, literary studies, and related disciplines.
